About the role

The Manager, Data Governance and Open Data leads data governance strategy and policy to strengthen how data is managed, shared and used across DCCEEW. The role supports open government and digital transformation by improving data capability, quality and maturity.

You will coordinate department‑wide data governance model, work closely with business and technical stakeholders, manage data risk and assurance, and drive best‑practice open and shared data in line with NSW Government requirements.

About you

You are an experienced data governance professional with strong knowledge of data management frameworks and enterprise‑wide data practices. You can translate complex governance requirements into practical solutions and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

You bring experience with data governance tools and platforms, understand data modelling and database concepts, and have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience. You are motivated to deliver trusted, high‑quality data outcomes that support transparency and better decision‑making.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information and technology or related technical field and/or relevant experience.
