  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $ 129,464 to $ 142,665 + super & leave loading

The Geospatial Strategy & Enablement team leads the department‑wide uplift of geospatial capability across DCCEEW, shaping a unified strategic direction and driving adoption of modern, scalable spatial technologies. We partner closely with program areas to ensure geospatial data, tools, services, and governance are consistent, reliable, and built for whole‑of‑portfolio use.

About the role

The Geospatial Enablement Lead has a technical focus, responsible for the operation and continuous improvement of the Department’s enterprise geospatial platforms, data pipelines and supporting technologies. The role provides enterprise leadership across the geospatial stack to ensure secure, reliable and scalable services that support operations, data sharing and digital transformation.

The role operates with autonomy, making decisions within scope and escalating matters that may significantly impact outcomes or timeframes. You are accountable for delivering high quality work on time and preparing reports, business cases and written advice with minimal supervision.

The role reports to the Manager, Geospatial Strategy and Enablement and has no direct reports, but is responsible for leading and coordinating work across internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You are a senior geospatial professional with exceptionally strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently in a complex environment. You manage competing priorities effectively, exercise sound judgement, and build productive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You communicate technical information clearly and take ownership of delivering reliable, enterprise scale geospatial services.

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Extensive experience delivering ESRI enterprise geospatial solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of geospatial data infrastructure, standards and best practice
  • Experience leading technical delivery and coordinating work across stakeholders
  • Proven capability in managing geospatial services, including SLAs and incident resolution
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing reports and technical advice

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in a related field
