  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $115,817 to $130,667 + super

About the role

As the Coordination and Planning Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the effective operation of the Program Design & Management (PDM) team and the broader Conservation, Planning & Assessment Branch. You will lead and coordinate a range of business planning, governance, and operational activities, ensuring that priorities, deadlines, and information flow are managed efficiently.

You will be responsible for coordinating briefing materials, overseeing correspondence and workflow systems, supporting program and project reporting, and contributing to process and service improvement initiatives. The role requires sound judgement, strong written communication skills, and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders across the Branch, Department, and Ministerial Office.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem solving, and can bring structure, clarity, and reliability to fast‑moving work.

About You

You are an organised and proactive professional who brings strong planning, communication, and coordination skills to your work. You have experience supporting senior leaders in high‑volume, time‑critical environments and can manage competing priorities with confidence and discretion.

You excel at building productive working relationships, spotting issues early, and ensuring information is accurate, timely, and well‑presented. You are comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, and you take pride in improving systems, streamlining processes, and helping others succeed.

Your ability to think ahead, provide sound advice, and maintain a calm, solutions‑focused approach will be key to your success in this role

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a fast paced and high work volume office, including a proven capacity to support senior level staff in the management of projects and issues.
