You will join an international team of 16 scientists and research associates with diverse backgrounds, working closely with R&D to develop sustainable solutions that make a real difference.

The role & your impact

As our new Laboratory Technician in Oils & Fats Application Research, you will play a key operational role in developing, scaling up, and implementing innovative solutions for vegetable oils and fats, including biodiesel, renewable diesel, degumming, interesterification, and applications within food and oleochemicals. You will also support exciting venture programs such as Carbon Capture and Plastic Recycling. Your work will directly contribute to advancing sustainable biosolutions globally.

Your Key Responsibilities In This Role

  • Plan and execute laboratory trials mimicking real industrial processes at laboratory scale, in collaboration with scientists.
  • Handle, analyze, and report data and results from laboratory trials using Microsoft Excel or SAS JMP.
  • Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks and databases, including raw data and study documentation, with help of Benchling.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment, including HPLC, GC, ICP, and NMR, to generate reliable data that supports laboratory trials.
  • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues across laboratories and functions.
  • Actively contribute to quality, safety, and data compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure a well-organized, tidy, and safe laboratory environment.

What you will need to be successful in this role

  • Degree from a Danish laboratory education program, e.g., Københavns Professionshøjskole, Erhvervsakademi København, Zealand Sjællands Erhvervsakademi, UCL Erhvervsakademi og Professionshøjskole, or equivalent.
  • Several years of hands-on laboratory experience within the biotech industry
  • Experience planning and executing laboratory trials.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience working with electronic laboratory notebooks such as Benchling.
  • Flair for and interest in data analysis and automation using digital tools, AI and relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and organized laboratory environment.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

  • Practical experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, ICP, and/or NMR
  • Experience with development of enzymatic assays
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving laboratory processes and routines.
  • Good communication skills in both Danish and English.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for working across scientific disciplines and cultures.

Working conditions

This position is based in our laboratories in Lyngby, Denmark, where you will work hands-on with chemicals, samples, and analytical equipment in a research environment. Quality, safety, and data compliance are integral parts of the role, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues across laboratories and functions to support research and innovation activities.
