Software Engineering Intern | NovAzure

Apply now

We’re seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join NovAzure on a collaborative project pushing the boundaries of sustainability-focused technology.

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to high-impact work that bridges software engineering with real-world applications across energy, infrastructure, and environmental intelligence. This is an opportunity to contribute to a technically ambitious, commercially relevant product while learning from people working across commercialisation of engineering, innovation, and net-zero strategy.

This is an unpaid three month internship opportunity, with the potential to progress into a paid, full-time role.

We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, excited to build, and motivated to grow. We do not expect deep expertise in every technical area, but we do want someone with a solid grounding in software development, an interest in the relevant stack, and curiosity about modern AI-enabled ways of building.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contributing to the development of a data-driven software product
  • Supporting backend and frontend development tasks across the platform
  • Assisting with API integrations, application workflows, and data handling
  • Helping work with structured data and internal processes, including Excel and Google Sheets
  • Collaborating with team members and contributing to real product decisions
  • Learning how technical work translates into real sustainability and infrastructure outcomes
  • Engaging with modern development workflows, including the use of AI-assisted tools
  • Supporting customer engagement, including some client-facing interaction
  • Translating customer needs and business challenges into actionable solutions

What we’re looking for:

  • A good foundation and experience in Python and/or TypeScript, or another relevant programming language
  • Exposure to relevant technologies such as FastAPI, React, APIs, Git, AWS, and NoSQL databases
  • Comfort with logic-based problem solving
  • Interest in modern engineering workflows, including familiarity with AI-assisted development tools
  • An eagerness to learn quickly and to take the initiative
  • Someone proactive who is confident suggesting improvements and new ideas
  • A strong team player
  • Interest in sustainability, climate tech, energy, or infrastructure is a plus
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role, with one day per week in our London office

What you’ll gain:

  • Real experience working on a software product linked to practical energy and sustainability goals
  • Mentorship and exposure to NovAzure’s wider innovation and strategy work
  • Meaningful contribution to climate-tech progress
  • Networking opportunities across NovAzure’s startup and corporate ecosystem
  • Valuable experience for future roles in software, clean tech, infrastructure, and energy systems
