The Department of Mining and Energy is seeking an experienced and driven leader to join the Sustainable Energy Development team, which develops, de-risks and coordinates the delivery of electricity sector policies, strategies and projects to support economic efficiency, strengthen electricity market design and create industry certainty.


As the Director Project Delivery, you support the development and delivery of sustainable energy projects that advance the NT Government’s electricity sector priorities and contribute to a secure, reliable and lowest sustainable cost electricity system.


Working under the direction of the Executive Director, you will lead the implementation of the Government’s electricity system plans and reviews, supervise a small team of professional staff and manage specialist external resources across commercial, economic, financial, technical and engineering disciplines.


You will be required to prepare executive level briefings, reports and submissions, and establish strong working relationships and collaborative partnerships across government, industry and the broader electricity sector. The role operates in a commercially sensitive environment that requires sound judgement, initiative and the ability to manage complex and confidential matters.


To succeed, you will bring superior project management experience, strong strategic and commercial capability and highly developed stakeholder and communication skills. You will have a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes in complex and sensitive environments, influence strategic outcomes and work effectively across organisational boundaries.
