Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of carbon projects from concept through to credit issuance
- Draft and lead the writing of Project Design Documents (PDDs)
- Design projects that are coherent with the chosen standard and methodology (e.g. Verra)
- Build and own the MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) plan, acting as MRV lead
- Manage the verification and validation process, including relationships with validation/verification bodies (VVBs)
- Manage project timelines, risks, and dependencies across a cross-functional team
- Support the evaluation of new markets, geographies, and standards as Noora scales
- Translate technical carbon accounting work into clear input for investors and the board
- Quantify and calculate carbon capture and be able to explain and defend its conclusions.
- 5+ years of experience in carbon project development
- Relevant education: MSc or equivalent in a field such as bio-economics, natural capital markets, or carbon/environmental science.
- Experience developing carbon projects; familiarity with VM0045, Verra, and Nordic forests is a plus
- A track record of writing PDDs
- Hands-on experience in Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV), ideally having built an MRV plan or acted as MRV lead
- Experience working across multiple carbon standards (e.g. Verra/VCS, Gold Standard, ACR, CAR) is a plus
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to run multiple workstreams without heavy process
- A strategic, helicopter-view mindset combined with a hands-on approach
- Analytical, comfortable working with numbers
- Self-driven, able to take initiative
- Flexible able to work from home as well as travel occasionally and spend time in Oslo
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and shifting priorities, as expected in a startup
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical carbon concepts to non-technical stakeholders
