Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Battery Electric Vehicle and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle programs. This role involves leading the development and application of vehicle and component level models to predict vehicle range, performance, and the durability of subsystems and components, with a particular focus on battery, fuel cell, and powertrain systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leveraging these models to interface with the system development lifecycle across cross-functional teams, enhancing our vehicle development process from concept to product validation.
Responsibilities:
You have:
  • 5+ years of state-space modeling experience in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Knowledge of the physics behind battery, fuel cell, and powertrain systems, and abilities to build plant models for abovementioned systems
  • Understanding the system engineering cycle including project definition, system requirements, system verification and validation processes
  • Understanding of control logic for battery management, fuel cell power management, and motor control
  • Ability to develop vehicle and powertrain controls algorithms, and verify implementations
  • Efficient use of simulation models to validate vehicle controls and functional safety
  • Familiarity with git version control
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant fields
  • Experiences in 1D Physical and thermal models with simulation tools such as GT-Suite or AMESIM
  • Experience in tool development for Model-Based System Engineering
  • Experiences in digital-twin model development
  • Classical control theory, optimal controls, data-driven control, and MPC (Model Predictive Control)
  • Hybridization strategies, power management, and regenerative braking algorithm
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, and CANape
