Sr. Renewable Project Manager (Licensed General Contractor)
Job Summary
The Sr. Renewable Project Manager is responsible for the technical execution and onsite management of Solar and Energy Storage System (ESS) repowering projects for external customers. This individual oversees the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring that aging renewable assets are successfully upgraded, integrated, and commissioned. As the Licensed General Contractor (GC) of record, you will ensure all site activities comply with state regulations, safety standards, and client-specific requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the Qualifying Party (QP) for the company’s GC license, managing all building permits and regulatory inspections.
- Lead the technical assessment and onsite execution of Solar and ESS repowering projects for external clients.
- Supervise third-party electrical and structural subcontractors to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and safety codes.
- Conduct regular site audits to ensure that new equipment installations comply with grid interconnection agreements and local laws.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the compatibility of new high-efficiency components with the customer's existing infrastructure.
- Evaluate external customer systems to identify critical replacement needs and propose optimal repowering solutions.
Qualifications:
- Active General Contractor (GC) License in South Carolina (SC), Pennsylvania (PA), California (CA), or other states is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Civil), Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Solar PV and ESS hardware, including inverters, battery modules, and monitoring software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage external client relationships and lead diverse onsite teams.
- Superior organizational skills with a focus on project scheduling, contract compliance, and site safety data.
- Proven ability to resolve complex onsite engineering challenges or logistical delays independently.
