Job Description
What you will do:
- In this position your mission will be coating metal objects with a layer of another metal using an electrochemical process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality and durable finishes on various products.
- Prepare and clean metal surfaces for plating by removing grease, dirt, rust, and other contaminants.
- Set up and operate electroplating equipment according to specifications and work orders.
- Monitor and adjust electroplating processes to ensure consistent and uniform coating thickness.
- Maintain and troubleshoot plating baths, including measuring and adjusting chemical concentrations.
- Inspect plated products for quality, uniformity, and adherence to specifications.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of electroplating equipment and work area.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep accurate records of plating processes, parameters, and results.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements.
- Work with suppliers to get required materials and parts for the electrolysis cell and stack.
- Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in electroplating or a related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience as an Electroplater or in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of electroplating principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Familiarity with different types of metals and plating solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
