Role Purpose:
As a Project Associate – Energy Projects at NewCold, you will support the Energy & Sustainability team in advancing global energy initiatives. Your role will involve assisting in the development and implementation of clean energy projects, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and contributing to the preparation of business cases and capital expenditure requests. You will work closely with the Global Project Manager -Sustainability and other team members to ensure projects align with strategic objectives and are executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of global Energy & Sustainability projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedules, budgets, and business objectives.
- Assist Project Managers in managing project lifecycles from concept development through execution, commissioning, and project close-out.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, trackers, action registers, project documentation, and status reports to ensure effective project monitoring and control.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, site teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and suppliers to facilitate timely execution of project activities and resolution of project issues.
- Organize project meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, track action items, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure agreed deliverables are completed on time.
- Support project governance activities including risk management, issue tracking, change management, document control, and compliance with internal project management processes.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, capital expenditure requests, technical evaluations, project presentations, and management reports to support project decision-making and approvals.
- Support contractor and vendor selection activities, including technical and commercial evaluations, proposal reviews, bid comparisons, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, invoices, and expenditure against approved plans, highlighting variances and supporting financial tracking activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, finance, sustainability, and external partners to ensure project objectives are effectively delivered.
- Support the implementation of renewable energy, energy efficiency, automation, and sustainability-related projects across NewCold's global operations.
- Prepare project dashboards, progress updates, KPI reports, and executive summaries for management reviews and governance forums.
- Assist in identifying project risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities, and support the development of mitigation and corrective action plans.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices, tools, templates, and reporting standards within the Energy & Sustainability function.
- Remain informed of emerging technologies, industry developments, and best practices in engineering, project management, renewable energy, and sustainability
Job Requirements:
Education Requirement:
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience with energy, infrastructure, industrial, construction, automation, sustainability, or capital projects is required
- Knowledge of Project Management software like MS Project, Jira etc. is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including project planning, scheduling, stakeholder management, risk management, and project controls.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams to support successful project delivery.
- Ability to track project schedules, budgets, action items, risks, and deliverables while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Exposure to concepts of business sustainability and knowledge of energy systems, carbon accounting etc will be preferred.
- Familiarity with PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar engineering tools would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, capable of summarizing project complexity to senior management.
