Business Development Manager and Account Manager
About the Role:
New Energy Transport (NET) is building Australia's first zero-emission heavy road freight network — combining electric prime movers, high-power charging infrastructure and depot operations to deliver reliable, commercially viable transport for major freight customers. We are now transitioning from early-stage feasibility and demonstrations into full commercial operations.
This is a rare opportunity to join a genuinely new kind of freight company at the moment it starts to scale. As our Business Development & Accounts Manager, you will own NET's commercial pipeline end-to-end — generating and converting new customer opportunities into contracted transport services, then managing those relationships through implementation and ongoing delivery
This is a Sydney-based, individual contributor role with significant commercial autonomy, reporting to the GM — Transport Operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Proactively identify, develop and convert new customer opportunities across NET's target freight segments, building and maintaining a structured sales pipeline.
• Lead the full sales cycle — from initial outreach and capability presentations through to proposal, negotiation and contract execution.
• Manage customer onboarding from signed agreement through to operational commencement, coordinating all readiness activities internally and externally.
• Act as the primary commercial relationship owner across your customer portfolio — running regular account reviews, managing performance, resolving issues and identifying growth
• Help establish NET's early sales and account management processes — CRM discipline, pipeline reviews, customer handover templates and account review rhythms.
What We're Looking For:
• Experience in transport, logistics, freight, supply chain or a closely related B2B service environment.
• Demonstrated experience in business development, account management or commercial operations — including ownership of a full sales pipeline and customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of how transport services are sold, implemented and delivered.
• Commercial awareness: pricing discipline, margin protection and contract scope management.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving growth company where processes are still being built.
Desirable: heavy road freight, linehaul or 3PL experience; experience with major corporate freight customers or transport buyers; interest in zero-emission transport and supply chain decarbonisation.
What We Offer:
• A genuinely meaningful role — help build Australia's zero-emission freight future from the ground up.
• Significant commercial autonomy and ownership across the full sales-to-delivery cycle.
• Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.
• Sydney-based with a flexible, collaborative work environment.
• Direct access to founders and executive leadership in a lean, purpose-driven team.
