We are looking for a summer trainee to join our Corporate Sustainability & Sustainability Reporting team in Espoo!

We are a team of 10 professionals dedicated to driving Neste’s sustainability vision and commitments forward. Together, we implement sustainability initiatives across Neste’s business and ensure our reporting meets increasing regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Your role during the summer

You will get to work closely with our diverse team of sustainability professionals, and have the opportunity to deepen your own expertise across climate, biodiversity and human rights topics, as well as sustainability reporting, governance, regulation and risk management. You will be able to participate in our team’s daily work, develop transferable skills, and be a part of the global sustainability organization at Neste.

As a Summer Trainee, Sustainability, you will focus on tasks related to sustainability data management, reporting, and/or topical projects linked to climate, biodiversity and human rights, depending on your current knowledge, interests, and experience. You will work together with the subject matter experts in the team and with selected internal stakeholders. The working language of our international team is English.

The best combination to succeed in this role

  • You are currently studying or have studied in a relevant academic field (Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Business Management, Social Sciences, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Geography, or similar).
  • Motivation to learn and deepen your knowledge in corporate sustainability and ESG.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with ability to compose detailed reports using clear and concise language.
  • Good understanding of sustainability basics e.g. global sustainability challenges, circular economy. Having a deeper understanding of global sustainability frameworks, evolving sustainability regulation, or methodologies to assess environmental and social sustainability impacts is an asset, but not required.
  • Prior experience in the field of sustainability is useful, but not mandatory.

The job is located in Keilaranta, Espoo, with excellent transport connections. Currently we work regularly at least three days a week at the office to ensure seamless collaboration and sense of belonging.

The position follows the collective agreement for senior salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 2350 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits. We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated after 1st January 2025. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
