Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai (Open to travel across India) for a Miyawaki, Urban Tree Plantation, EIA & Biodiversity Specialist. The role involves planning, designing, and implementing urban afforestation projects, including Miyawaki forests and other green plantation initiatives. The Specialist will conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), develop biodiversity assessment, collaborate with stakeholders, and monitor the sustainability and success of projects. Responsibilities also include reporting, training, and ensuring alignment with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
Experience Required
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in tree plantation projects, biodiversity studies, or ecological restoration (Miyawaki plantation experience preferred).

- B.Sc./M.Sc in Botany, Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
Skills
- Expertise in Miyawaki forest development, urban tree plantation, and biodiversity planning
- Proficiency in tree identification and field survey methods.
- Strong report writing, research, and documentation skills.
- Experience in conducting Biodiversity and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and creating ecological reports
- Knowledge of environmental science, sustainability practices, and nature-based solutions
- Strong skills in project management, stakeholder collaboration, and team coordination
- Ability to analyze and adapt site-specific ecological interventions
- Proficiency in tools and technology for environmental research and monitoring
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, or a related field preferred
- Ability to use basic GIS tools, biodiversity databases, or ecological survey software (preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of social media management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) for environmental campaigns.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage with corporates, NGOs, and government bodies.
- Experience in sustainability, climate action, or CSR-related projects is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tree identification, site surveys, and biodiversity assessments for urban forests, plantations, and ecological projects.
- Lead and support Miyawaki plantation projects and other tree plantation initiatives from planning to execution.
- Prepare scientific and project reports, documentation, and research papers as required.
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement biodiversity conservation strategies.
- Assist in project research, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Manage and update social media platforms with project updates, awareness content, and success stories.
- Coordinate and engage with corporate partners, CSR teams, and government agencies for project support and reporting.
- Support community awareness activities, capacity building programs, and ecological workshops.
