Position Summary

The Manager, Employee Engagement will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, playing an instrumental role in designing and implementing Human Resources programs that optimize employee engagement and performance development.

Position Requirements

This position works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to develop HR programs that align with NCC’s strategic goals and objectives and drive a positive organizational culture. We are looking for a true project manager to lead projects such as:

  • NCC’s Internship program
    • Consults with business units on seasonal intern hiring needs and supports managers from hire to program conclusion
    • Manages the development of professional development opportunities for interns in French and English
    • Completes centralized grant applications for intern funding for NCC and tracks expenditures, analyzes program data and manages the delivery of intern program reporting requirements
  • Complete rollout of Reflektive, a performance management system, to all NCC employees. Assists in the development of resources and preparation of presentation materials to support the roll-out.
  • Leads an organization-wide training needs analysis
  • Manages organization-wide cultural competency training
  • Plans content and schedules monthly “HR Café" webinar series
  • Organizes and schedules leadership training for leaders across the organization;
  • Manages NCC’s Service Recognition program
  • Leads the preparation and launch of the annual Great Place to Work survey and assists the Chief Human Resources Officer in analyzing results, preparing presentations and creating an annual action plan to address any gaps identified.
  • Manages the content on the HR intranet site and develops tools and other resources to assist staff by developing and implementing HR best practices in areas such as:
    • HR workflow and form process improvements
    • Orientation and onboarding
    • Performance management and competencies
    • Human Resources Information System

Required Skills and Attributes

  • College diploma or university degree in human resources, general business, communication or social science discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Additional education/certification in program design, evaluation and/or management is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a program management lead on large scale projects/programs that engage a wide variety of stakeholders. Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills;
  • Proven people management and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience with conflict resolution;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
  • Calm, confident, systematic approach to meeting deadlines and goals.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) is required
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and/or Reflektive is an asset.
