: Coordinator, Collaboration and Implementation of the Quebec Ecological Corridors Initiative

Location: Montreal or Quebec City

Position Summary

The Coordinator’s main responsibility is to support the implementation of the QECI. They will work closely with the coordination team and the partners of the QECI. They will also support NCC’s leadership in developing and improving the nature-based solutions concept and its application. The Coordinator reports to the Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure the interoperation of the collaborative multi-partner structure of the QECI through the implementation of collaborative mechanisms and the coaching of the learning community, among other means.
  • Identify training needs, develop training materials and activities, and assess their impact on strengthening the project’s partnership capacity.
  • Synthesize knowledge and develop new tools to support collaborations.
  • Foster capacity building in social and behavioural change approaches.
  • Help broaden the scope of connectivity projects (write articles, present conferences, etc.).
  • Organize and coordinate various events (meetings, forums, webinars, conferences, workshops, etc.).
  • Enhance the overall performance of the QECI, including deadlines and deliverables.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with our partners.
  • Help secure funding and produce reports for our funders.


Position Requirements


The following skills, attributes, and experience are essential:

  • University degree in environment, land use planning, geography, or any related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in project coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and networking skills, team player, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills in French. Functional knowledge of the English language.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize, especially for managing and meeting multiple competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of a range of subjects on landscape conservation and social issues, such as landscape connectivity, ecosystem services, resilience in the face of climate change, species preservation, restoration, and agriculture.


The following skills, attributes, and experience are considered assets:

  • Experience in the application of project and behavioural change approaches led by a range of stakeholders: governmental and intergovernmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society, private sector, and other conservation partners.
