Main responsibilities of the position


The Communications and Marketing Coordinator supports the Director of Communications and Marketing in increasing the visibility and awareness of the Nature Conservancy of Canada in Quebec among target audiences in order to increase donations. They will also help ensure excellent donor recognition through various tools. They will also promote the NCC's mission, as well as its general and specific achievements in certain conservation projects, in order to encourage the participation of current and potential donors.

  • Coordination of communications and marketing projects in line with the department's business objectives, in compliance with NCC's internal policies and funding agreements with various donors.
  • Writing, design and layout of various communications and marketing tools to provide visibility for NCC and solicit or recognize donors: press releases, newsletters, social networks, web articles, magazines, inserts, panels, presentation documents and letters.
  • Coordination and promotion of events for media, donors, volunteers and partners (press conferences, field visits, donor recognition)
  • Revise French-language materials (documents, letters, presentations, etc.) for the Quebec region
  • Provide support for day-to-day communications and marketing tasks, and perform any other related duties as requested by the Director of Communications and Marketing.


Position requirements

  • 2 years of experience in communications and marketing-related activities
  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, biology, ecology, environmental education or other related field
  • Relevant experience in developing and writing various types of documents for different audiences
  • Ability to work independently
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail, respect for standards
  • Respect for deadlines and effective management of emergencies
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, team spirit and team player
  • Ability to adapt (flexible hours: including evenings and weekends on occasion)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Design software such as Publisher or InDesign (an asset)
  • Knowledge of plant and animal biology and natural habitat conservation (an asset)


Conditions of employment

  • Full-time 37.5 hours/week
