Position Summary:

Reporting to Assistant Director, Donor Stewardship the Donor Stewardship Coordinator provides general, high-level administrative support for projects that include gift intake and acknowledgements; large-scale donor communications (print and digital); file and document storage and management; Asana implementation; data entry and hygiene; and special projects operations. Part of the Donor Relations and Special Events teams, Donor Stewardship is responsible for the stewardship, engagement, and recognition of major and principal gift donors whose financial contributions fund NRDC’s work.
  • Perform gift management and acknowledgment support, including sorting and uploading acknowledgement scans and other gift-related paperwork to donors’ CRM records; running mail merges using templates; collating materials to send to mail house; generating reports from CRM; entering grant-required deliverables and tasks.
  • Manage administrative components of large mailing projects: pull donor lists from CRM, circulate donor lists to major gift officers (MGOs) for review, collate lists, update donor records.
  • Help maintain accurate donor information through ongoing data entry and by managing periodic data hygiene projects to ensure accurate donor information in CRM.
  • Assist the Donor Relations team managing writing projects: with input from the Assistant Director, Philanthropy Communications, assign writers to deliverables in the CRM; triage and enter new project requests; upload completed reports and supporting materials to Sharepoint and CRM; update interdepartmental project tracker.
  • Support Donor Relations team in developing processes and procedures and utilizing project management tools such as Asana.
  • Update the Donor Communications calendar on regular basis.
  • Provide administrative support on special projects as needed.
  • Commitment to NRDC’s goals and values.
  • Undergraduate degree and 3-5 years of work experience preferred, including a minimum of one-year full-time experience in a Development or administrative support position (donor relations, event planning, marketing, sales experience a plus).
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; must be comfortable speaking with NRDC members and donors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including word processing, editing, graphics), Excel, and file-sharing platforms.
  • Proficiency with Asana (project management software).
  • Nonprofit database (CRM) experience, Salesforce preferred.
  • Superior ability to perform work independently with meticulous attention to accuracy/detail.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks requiring rapid turnaround time, and ability to follow institutional procedures.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress and adhere to high standards of confidentiality.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based
on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. For this position, the salary is $68,000 to $80,000.

Since March 2020, NRDC’s offices have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You will be associated with one of our offices, but until circumstances allow us to re-open, we will continue to support NRDCers with remote working arrangements.
