NRDC is seeking a Content Management & Digital Production Associate to work with the Communications team in our New York City office.

Position Summary

The Content Management & Digital Production Associate is responsible for assisting the Content Management & Digital Production team in organizing and maintaining workflows/processes across multiple platforms, as well as helping with the day-to-day production of the website. This position will require collaboration, web production, project management, and superb organizational skills. This individual will help to see through editorial, institutional, multimedia, and web content from start to finish.
  • Help Content Management & Digital Production team members in project management, including but not limited to editorial, multimedia, and digital projects.
  • Help produce and build webpages and other digital projects, such as e-newsletters.
  • Take overarching project deadlines and work out task lists with realistic and achievable milestones.
  • Work with stakeholders internally and externally to liaise about deadlines, content changes, and final deliverables and to respond to any real-time adjustments in schedules.
  • Help update internal training documents and guides as processes and resources change.
  • Ensure quality assurance.
  • Help process content request forms.
  • Other related duties as needed.

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a creative environment or at a nonprofit
  • 2-3 years of experience working with project management platforms, preferably Asana
  • 2-3 years of experience in using content management systems, preferably Drupal
  • Extremely organized approach to handling content
  • Able to help bring structure to content and process gaps and uncertainty
  • Able to communicate complex topics effectively, in simple and easy-to-understand language
  • Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy
  • Self-starter and able to work independently, even in frequently changing situations
  • Quick learner and able to efficiently balance competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Skilled in cross-team communication and collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (digital communications, communications, journalism, etc.)
  • Experience in nonprofits, especially in the environmental field
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator and Figma
  • Proficiency in Asana
  • Proficiency in Drupal

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. For this position, the salary is $65,000 to $70,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.

Since March 2020, NRDC’s offices have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You will be associated with one of our offices, but until circumstances allow us to re-open, we will continue to support NRDCers with remote working arrangements.
