NRDC is seeking a Campaigns & Advertising Associate to work with the Communications team in our New York City or Washington, D.C. office.

Position Summary

The Campaigns & Advertising Associate is a new position that will sit on the Campaigns & Marketing team and will primarily assist in execution of tactical and logistical elements for digital advertising and marketing campaigns led by the team. Working closely with the Senior Advertising Manager, and Associate Director of Campaigns & Marketing, this role will work to assist the full eight-member team with campaign development, implementation, and reporting on priority ad campaigns and campaign efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the project management of the team’s advertising and marketing projects and other workflows, including the coordination and execution of reporting documents (using digital project management tools like Asana boards).
  • Assist in circulating campaign content and ad creatives to facilitate timely review, feedback and approvals with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with audience research & development and manage audience persona benchmarking.
  • Track and process invoices for paid advertising efforts led by the team in collaboration with Program Assistant.
  • Manage and update media and campaign plans as needed.
  • Build reports for advertising and priority campaigns, including gathering analysis and benchmarks from vendors or by channels.
  • Assist with ad production and QA.
  • Launch, monitor, and optimize ads across Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, display, etc.
  • Manage imports of acquisition lists and assist with onboarding strategy and implementation.
  • Manage link tracking processes.
  • Help with other logistical and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Commitment to NRDC’s mission and values.
  • 1-3 years of digital acquisition or advertising experience with political, advocacy and/or nonprofit organizations.
  • Ability to create and manage project plans, timelines, and day-to-day tasks so teams can deliver quality digital marketing products according to scope, time and quality expectations.
  • Experience supporting and advancing recruitment campaigns focused on email subscribers, donors and monthly donors through search, Facebook, display and various other paid advertising platforms.
  • Experience supporting on developing partnerships and running unpaid recruitment efforts through list chaperones, co-registrations, and other online content and strategy for political or legislative campaigns; non-profit advocacy organizations or national organizing campaigns.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of meeting deadlines and deliverables, with quick turnarounds.
  • Knowledge of social media, email marketing and production of digital materials (written, graphical and video).
  • Broad experience in managing social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Snap(chat).
  • Thrives in a campaign style environment with "rapid fire" deadlines and responses.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Asana or other project management tools.
  • Familiarity with external vendor management.
  • Basic knowledge of digital reporting, analytics, and tracking.
  • Experience with marketing and advertising to diverse audiences.

We offer competitive salaries,
excellent benefits , and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. For this position, the salary is $70,000 to $85,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.

Since March 2020, NRDC’s offices have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You will be associated with one of our offices, but until circumstances allow us to re-open, we will continue to support NRDCers with remote working arrangements.
