About the Company: Natural Capital Advisory’s (NCA) mission is to use our expertise in natural science and business to deliver the very best environmental and financial outcomes from the Natural Capital sector. NCA is a well-connected, fast-growing subsidiary of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) and its key clients include the Environmental Farmers Group (EFG), and Peakland Environmental Farmers (PEF). It is made up a core team of four and a wider team of ten covering field work and other necessary functions. NCA delivers four main services:
1) natural capital baselining and planning,
2) convening groups of farmers to be able to influence and trade collectively,
3) brokering of environmental trades, and
4) providing ongoing environmental monitoring on projects delivered above.
About the Role: In this role, you will be supporting the core team and locally based teams to build effective communication channels and systems for NCA and its clients. As the organisation is growing quickly with many different stakeholders, this role will be challenging but you will be working closely with an experienced communications lead. Your work will focus on NCA and its clients’ websites and social media platforms as well as direct communications with farmers, developers and other stakeholders.
The role is varied and hands-on, offering exposure to digital communications, stakeholder engagement, CRM implementation, and cross-organisational working. As NCA continues to grow, you will also support EFG’s developing partnership with NFU Mutual and play a role in shaping effective communication systems for the future
Main Activities of the Role: The main objective of this role will be to support existing communications frameworks and to help build effective communication channels and systems for NCA’s clients, particularly EFG. The role encompasses a wide variety of activities, including:
· Monitoring and managing existing communications channels,
· Identify and develop consistent communications approach,
· Controlling and updating the website CMS,
· Supporting the team in the installation and development of its first CRM system,
· Assisting team in horizon-scanning for local opportunities,
· Assist in planning, writing, and managing newsletters and e-shots,
· With support, take responsibility for creation and management of EFG social media account(s),
· Work with wider team to write engaging website content,
· Attend industry events where relevant and report accordingly,
· Learning to use video creation and editing to increase digital engagement,
· Taking responsibility to expand photo-stock database,
· Work closely with GWCT Membership, Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistency of branding, voice etc.
About you: We’re looking for a motivated, well-organised individual who enjoys communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and working within a small, dynamic team. You will ideally demonstrate:
· Confident to communicate and work with multiple stakeholder types,
· Happy to work independently and as part of a small and dynamic team,
· Strong capability with social media and communication platforms,
· Ability to work on own initiative with remote supervision,
· Good attention to detail,
· Highly organised and able to manage time effectively,
· Interest in the countryside, the environment and agriculture,
· Interest to learn about the positive impacts natural capital will have on climate change,
· Strong IT skills, proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Sharepoint (desirable),
· UK driving licence and ability to travel in England.
