Investment Trainee, Mirova Division (24-months contract)

The Opportunity
Mirova is looking to hire an Investment Analyst as Trainee to join the team in Singapore from March 2026. The role will be an integral part of a small and nimble investment team and contribute to review, assess, negotiate, execute, and manage transactions in private markets related to the Energy Transition and Natural Capital sectors.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support investments team in assessing, structuring, and executing investment opportunities in Asia Pacific. Financial modelling, risk/reward analysis, review of legal documentation, review of due diligence reports, participation to terms negotiation and preparation of Investment/Credit Committee memo.
- Support origination efforts by identifying and screening new pipelines.
- Asset management once investments are in portfolio. Participation to the oversight and management of investments, monitoring of operation and finance KPIs, preparation of reporting and proactive mindset towards value creation.
- Investor engagement. Support for the distribution of Energy Transition and Natural Capital Funds developed by Mirova toward Asia Pacific clients. Support answers to prospects DDQ and client service.
- Ongoing market mapping and intelligence with a focus on Mirova focus segments
Selection Criteria:
- Fresh university graduate in Business/Economics/Accountancy or a related finance discipline with less than 2 years of working experience
- Driven by our mission to finance project and companies providing solutions to help solve climate change, biodiversity loss and inequality.
- Low ego and a learning mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in understanding business models and the inherent risks.
- Detail oriented, a critical thinker and can question assumptions.
- Is familiar with producing pitch decks and information memoranda.
- Has prior experience with financial modelling, including an understanding of accounting accompanied by strong Excel skills
- Clear presentation skills to demonstrate the structured problem-solving approach.
- Strong written and oral communication in English
- Team player able to work in tight deadlines, manage prioritization and expectations across multiple competing priorities
- We will be testing for all the above during our interview process. While experience and education matters (see below), attitude, mindset, excel skills and a fit with our mission are most important.
- Previous internship experiences in (preferably climate or nature related) corporate finance, private equity, project finance, debt structured finance, or project development in Asia.
- Candidates without the need of employment pass sponsorship will be preferred.
