About The Role
As a Market Strategy Analyst in the Wholesale Market Strategy team, you will work on the design of electricity markets that support a secure, decarbonised energy system and efficient balancing for the system operator. You will assess the interactions between markets, investment policy mechanisms and market participants’ commercial behaviour, to come to views on how to reform dispatch and balancing frameworks. You will be expected to lead on the interaction between market signals and storage asset commercial behaviour, and feed that expertise into the Reformed National Pricing programme.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, Ofgem and the Electricity National Control Centre, where NESO balances the electricity system in real time, as well as external stakeholders to inform our work. A strategic mindset, commercial approach, and the ability to understand and communicate trade-offs is essential.
