The Opportunity

We're looking for a graduate to join our team of bright professionals. As our Sustainability team within Climate and Sustainability Services offer a range of service offerings, we are looking candidates with diverse skills and interests covering sustainable development and climate change.

Joining this team you'll likely work on a range of projects in different sectors including transport, water and energy. Clients will include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists, and will work closely with technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high quality climate and sustainability consultancy services.

The Sustainability team will work on: 

  • data analysis of organisation/project sustainability and greenhouse gas emission performance;
  • supporting in literature reviews and desktop appraisals, including peer review, policy review and review of best practice guidance;
  • assisting with gap analysis/assessment of organisation/projects' sustainability performance;
  • helping prepare meetings and internal/external workshops;
  • supporting the preparation of client deliverables in areas such as sustainability strategies, climate risk assessments, carbon assessments (aligned to frameworks such as BREEAM Infrastructure, TCFD, TNFD etc), and production of Environmental Impact Assessment of climate topics;
  • supporting in the planning and management of smaller scale projects including reviewing and monitoring budgets;
  • assisting with preparation of bids and tenders; and, undertaking internal research/skills network activities.

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking candidates currently working towards a Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Sustainability or other related environmental subjects (Minimum 2.1) or equivalent. We would also welcome applications from those with an engineering undergraduate degree who have additionally completed an environmental and/or sustainability focused postgraduate course.
