MycoInvest is our investment services arm, led by Guy de Nicolay (Head of MycoInvest). We act as a placement agent, matching high-potential fungi-focused startups with aligned investors, VCs, family offices, angels, corporate ventures, and impact funds committed to regenerative, nature-based solutions. We also offer scouting packages to investors seeking curated dealflow and market intelligence.


The Opportunity


We're expanding MycoInvest from its European base to cover three additional regions globally. We're looking for driven individuals to build investor relationships in their regions and connect them with our curated startup pipeline.


This is a commission-only role suited to someone who already operates in the investment or startup ecosystem, has strong networks, and wants to add fungi-biotech dealflow to their portfolio without a full-time commitment.

Primary: UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Israel

Secondary: South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt


What You'll Do


  • Build and maintain investor relationships in your region, VCs, family offices, angels, CVCs, and impact funds interested in climate tech, biotech, and sustainable materials
  • Match investors to startups from MycoStories' curated pipeline of fungi-focused companies seeking pre-seed to Series A funding
  • Deliver 10+ investor-startup introductions per month, facilitated connections where both parties have agreed to the introduction
  • Sell scouting packages to investors seeking ongoing dealflow access, expert consultations, and market intelligence reports
  • Facilitate introductions and support due diligence leveraging MycoStories' network of 100+ scientific and technical experts
  • Participate in weekly team calls led by MycoInvest Head to share pipeline updates, coordinate on cross-regional deals, and align on priorities
  • Maintain investor CRM records and contribute to regional market intelligence


What We're Looking For


Required
  • 5/10+ years experience in venture capital, angel investing, fundraising, investment banking, or startup ecosystem roles
  • Existing network of investor relationships in your target region
  • Strong interest in climate tech, biotech, sustainability, or nature-based solutions
  • Capacity to deliver minimum 10 investor-startup introductions per month
  • Professional English proficiency (written and verbal)
Ideal Candidate
  • Currently active as an independent consultant, fractional operator, angel investor, or scout
  • Has sourced or closed deals in the climate/biotech/food-tech space
  • Familiar with fungi/mycelium applications (materials, food, agriculture, health) or eager to learn
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with commission-based compensation tied to results
  • Regional language capabilities a plus


Compensation


This is a commission-only position with no retainer or base pay. You earn 50% of our success fee when deals close or scouting packages sell.

Time Commitment & Requirements


  • Weekly team call: 1 hour (time TBD based on team availability)
  • Onboarding: 4-6 hours initial training on platform, CRM, and processes
