Primary Job Summary

The HSE Specialist plays a key operational role in supporting the HSE Manager in strengthening the safety culture within Geoclima.

This position is responsible for the technical execution and monitoring of EHS activities, acting as the daily point of contact between the HSE function and production departments. The role ensures that safety procedures are properly understood and consistently applied across operations.

The HSE Specialist reports directly to the HSE Manager and works in close collaboration with Operations. The role supports the Employer and the RSPP; however, all legal responsibilities (Italian Legislative Decree 81/08) and strategic decisions remain under their authority and are not delegated.

Duties And Responsibilities

Safety Culture & Leadership

  • This role supports the HSE Manager in promoting and monitoring a strong safety culture across all organizational levels.
  • It contributes to safety programs such as safety observations, near-miss reporting, and behavioral safety initiatives.
  • The position requires a visible presence on the shop floor, acting as a bridge between HSE leadership and operational personnel.


Compliance & Standards

  • The HSE Specialist supports compliance with Italian regulations and company policies.
  • It contributes to maintaining ISO 45001 certification and assists in updating procedures, work instructions, and risk assessment documentation.
  • The role includes conducting regular field inspections, identifying gaps, and proposing corrective actions.


Incident Management & Prevention

  • The position assists in incident investigations by collecting data and supporting root cause analysis (RCA).
  • It manages the tracking and reporting of safety KPIs (TRIR, near misses, incidents) for management review.
  • The role supports the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).


Training & Development

  • The HSE Specialist supports the development and delivery of safety training programs.
  • It manages administrative tracking of mandatory training, including deadlines and documentation.
  • The role also supports onboarding activities, ensuring new employees are properly introduced to safety procedures.


Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • The position collaborates with Operations, under HSE Manager supervision, to apply Lean principles and the Munters Production System (MPS).
  • It provides support during the installation of new equipment or layout changes, ensuring HSE requirements are met.
  • The role interfaces with Engineering to ensure safety guidelines are integrated into execution phases.


Workplace & Equipment Safety

  • The HSE Specialist manages the operational selection, distribution, and monitoring of PPE usage.
  • It supports the evaluation and implementation of safety devices and systems.


The role maintains a constant presence in the workplace to identify hazards and promptly report them to the HSE Manager.

Skills And Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in HSE roles within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work effectively on the shop floor and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Good English communication skills (written and spoken)


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (HSE, Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Additional HSE certifications are considered a plus
  • Experience in production or manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Italian health & safety regulations (D.Lgs. 81/08)
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards and audit processes
  • Knowledge of safety KPIs and reporting systems
