Primary Job Summary

The Operations Planning Specialist is responsible for coordinating production scheduling and monitoring manufacturing costs to ensure operational efficiency and on-time delivery.

The role acts as a key cross-functional interface between Production, Materials, Engineering, Logistics, Sales, and Finance. It ensures alignment between customer demand, engineering data (BOM), material availability, production capacity, and logistics execution while maintaining visibility and control over manufacturing cost performance.

The Specialist supports operational decision-making through structured analysis, KPI monitoring, and proactive communication of schedule and cost risks.

Duties And Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

Develop and maintain the production schedule based on demand, capacity, and material availability. Create and update weekly production schedules, balancing workload across Assembly, Condensing, Electrical, Test, and Closing departments.

Flow & Capacity Management

Monitor WIP levels and support production flow optimization. Identify bottlenecks and escalate capacity constraints when needed.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

Support the implementation of Lean processes, Munters Production System (MPS). Drive flow, pull systems, and Just-in-Time (JIT) principles.

Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, and Procurement teams to improve material availability and flow.

Cost Analysis & Control

Analyze labor hours and material consumption per project. Provide cost visibility by project and product line.

Sales & Production Alignment

Support alignment between sales commitments and production capacity.

Risk Communication

Communicate schedule risks and cost impacts proactively to relevant stakeholders.

Data Accuracy & ERP Management

Ensure ERP data accuracy, including BOMs, labor data, and inventory records.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing and financial data
  • Proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken)


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–7 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing cost control, or operational analysis
  • Background in manufacturing, operations, or industrial environments preferred
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
