We are looking for a passionate Sustainability Software Developer to join our growing team. This is a role that combines technical software development skills with an in-depth understanding of sustainability concepts. They are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that help organizations better understand and reduce their environmental impact. This role is well suited to individuals with a passion for both technology and the environment, who are keen to use their skills to make a tangible difference in the world

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based software applications.
  • Develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
  • Build intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
  • Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Collaborate with sustainability consultants and business teams to develop software solutions for ESG reporting, carbon accounting, renewable energy management, and sustainability analytics.
  • Participate in software design, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Continuously research and adopt emerging technologies to improve application performance and user experience.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and/or Python.
  • Experience in full-stack web development using technologies such as: MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), or Java (Spring Boot/Java EE) frameworks.
  • Experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
  • Experience working with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Big Data technologies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/ Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • A genuine interest in sustainability, climate change, renewable energy, ESG, carbon accounting, and environmental technologies.

Work Environment

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Office Location: Mylapore, Chennai
  •  Work Mode: On-site
  • Weekends Off
