Sustainability & Climate Sales Specialist
Your Team Responsibilities
MSCI’s Sustainability & Climate business is one of the fastest growing areas of the firm, supporting clients across the globe as they navigate sustainability, climate risk, transition, and regulatory change. Our clients include consultants, corporate advisory firms, and corporates, alongside leading banks, insurers, asset managers, asset owners, and other financial market participants.
We are looking to expand our Sydney-based Sustainability & Climate Sales team with a highly motivated, proactive, and collaborative individual who is passionate about sustainability and climate solutions and energized by working in a team-oriented, client-focused environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with clients across Australia and New Zealand, primarily covering consultants, corporate advisory firms, and corporates, while also collaborating closely with colleagues across other key client segments. You will work in partnership with sales, research, product, and broader MSCI teams to deliver impactful, client-centric solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Achieve forecasted revenue, renewal, and growth objectives across assigned client segments in Australia and New Zealand
- Proactively develop, manage, and deepen relationships with consultants, corporate advisory firms, and corporate clients
- Identify new business opportunities, build a robust pipeline, and successfully close new sales
- Act as a trusted, consultative partner to corporate clients and advisors by demonstrating how MSCI’s Sustainability and Climate solutions help companies benchmark their sustainability and climate performance versus industry peers, understand ESG Ratings and key drivers, etc. This includes supporting companies in navigating carbon markets using MSCI’s data and analytics on carbon credit usage, project integrity, pricing, and procurement risk.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across sales, research, product, and marketing to deliver cross-segment opportunities and holistic client solutions
- Maintain detailed revenue reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management
- Actively grow your professional network by attending and contributing to relevant industry events, conferences, and client forums
- Communicate market trends, client feedback, and emerging opportunities to internal product, research, and marketing teams
- Support the development of sales materials, thought leadership, and client-facing content
- Monitor and manage client satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership value
- Contribute positively to team culture by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and embracing collaboration across regions and functions
- Ideally 2-3 years of relevant experience in a client-facing, commercial, sales, or advisory role within financial services, professional services, consulting, or sustainability-related industries
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales activity against quantitative targets and deliver results
- Strong interest in Sustainability and Climate topics, with a good understanding of how sustainability and climate factors impact corporates, financial markets, and decision-making
- Experience working with or selling to consultants, advisory firms, or corporates is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently at multiple levels of an organization
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working across functions and contributing to shared success
