Position Overview:
We are seeking a Solar Performance & Commissioning Analyst to support our growing renewable energy portfolio. This position focuses on system performance modeling, production verification, and remote commissioning support for solar PV, ESS, and EV infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical knowledge of system commissioning but prefers to apply that expertise in a more analytical, office-based setting. You'll ensure projects perform to design expectations by leveraging modeling tools, monitoring platforms, and performance data to validate real-world results and optimize future designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine production models using Helioscope, PVsyst, or similar tools to estimate system output based on site conditions and design parameters.
- Analyze post-installation system performance and identify discrepancies between modeled and actual production.
- Verify and configure system monitoring platforms (e.g., AlsoEnergy, PowerTrack, SolarEdge, CPS).
- Support remote commissioning and performance validation for Solar PV and ESS systems.
- Generate performance reports and provide actionable insights to engineering, construction, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with field teams to troubleshoot issues and confirm system configurations align with design intent.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system commissioning and performance data.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of modeling and monitoring workflows.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or utility-scale solar energy systems, with a focus on commissioning, system performance, or modeling.
- Proficiency in Helioscope, PVsyst, or comparable modeling tools.
- Experience using monitoring platforms such as AlsoEnergy or PowerTrack.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with energy storage system (ESS) commissioning or performance analysis.
- Familiarity with network communications (cellular, ethernet, or fiber) as they relate to monitoring systems.
- NABCEP certification (or in progress).
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar).
