A fast-growing and well funded Houston-based company that is at the intersection of renewable energy, real estate, and finance is seeking a 4-10 year attorney with expertise in land acquisition, development, and leasing transactions. This lawyer must be capable of negotiating, structuring, and closing complex real estate transactions, particularly involving raw land and large-scale commercial, industrial, or renewable energy projects.

A new position due to growth, this role will support land acquisitions and divestitures, drive due diligence, and lead negotiations on real estate and renewable energy-related transactions.

This role is ideal for a motivated attorney with strong real estate transactional experience who is eager to work independently and contribute meaningfully to a nimble, fast-paced company shaping the future of land involvement in renewable energy.

This attorney will job description includes:

  • Structure, negotiate, and close real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases, easements, and other land-related agreements, coordinating with outside counsel and external counterparties as needed.;
  • Analyze and resolve title and survey issues, including title insurance coverage, encumbrances, mineral rights, and access rights;
  • Conduct and oversee comprehensive real estate due diligence, including review of land use, permitting, and environmental reports, title reports, mineral rights, and access issues.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, development agreements, easements, and other real estate documents.

Qualified Candidates must have at least 4 years of solid real estate transactional experience (title, survey, purchase and sale agreements, due diligence), and the ability to negotiate and close real estate deals with minimal supervision
