*About the Senior HVAC Production Technician role: *
We are seeking a talented technician to build up the Production Team for our third-generation liquid desiccant air conditioner factory. Prior experience with Assembly, Service, or Installation of any Refrigeration systems is desired. The successful candidate will "get in at the ground floor" of our newly launched and funded business to build our manufacturing process and team. *Responsibilities:*
* Responsible for supporting assembly and commissioning of prototypes and production Air Conditioners.
* Responsible to be a part of the Assembly team at Mojave's first factory, achieving and exceeding all budgeted metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
* Follow best manufacturing practices to build/assemble refrigeration systems including compressors, coils, valves, receivers, accumulators, oil separators, and other HVAC/refrigeration components.
* Follow mechanical and electrical drawings to assemble commercial HVAC equipment including refrigeration system/heat pump; evaporator and condenser coils; fans and dampers; pumps and plumbing; high voltage (120-480V) electrical components; and sheet metal and insulation components.
* Braze copper pipe for refrigeration system: leak test, pump down, charge, and commission.
* Train and oversee other manufacturing technicians in these activities.
* Use electrical and piping schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
* Work both independently and under the direction of Manufacturing Engineering and Production Leadership.
* Interface clearly and politely with customers and coworkers.
* Clearly document and report repairs undertaken and results of inspections.
* Offer operational insight into systems that are not working correctly.
* Travel to installation sites for Equipment Startups, 25% max travel
*Qualifications:*
* 5+ years as an HVAC/Refrigeration Manufacturing or Field technician, or Associate Degree in HVAC Technology.
* Any additional experience in a Manufacturing setting is highly desired.
* Comprehensive understanding of Refrigeration/HVAC manufacturing best practices.
* Thorough, fundamental and working understanding of pressure-vapor curve and refrigeration engineering concepts expected (e.g., sub-cooling, super-heat, refrigerant glide, oil migration and management).
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong verbal communication skills.
* Strong written communication skills (email, reports, etc).
* Experience in instrumentation and data acquisition systems, as well as various forms of temperature, pressure, and flow measurement, is preferred.
* EPA Section 608 Technician certification Type I required; Type II or Universal preferred. xmcpwfu
