Lead Hand - Mechanical Line - Morning Shift

The Mechanical Line Lead Hand is responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day operations on the mechanical assembly line, ensuring production targets, safety requirements, and quality standards are consistently met. This role provides frontline leadership to a team of up to 15 employees and collaborates closely with Production Support, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to maintain an efficient, high‑performing manufacturing environment.

Morning Shift - Monday to Friday - 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of mechanical assembly employees.
  • Coordinate daily production activities and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Oversee installation of HVAC components and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production Support, Quality, and Purchasing.
  • Conduct cycle counts and ensure material availability for production.
  • Support quality processes, including non‑conformance reporting and corrective actions.
  • Improve production processes and assist in developing SOPs.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying materials, and working on the assembly line.
  • Promote and follow all safety protocols.
  • Lead supplier quality activities including audits, capability assessments, and long‑term quality improvement plans.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in assembly or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and lead a production team.
  • Knowledge of quality processes; experience with ISO/IATF/AS standards is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with hands‑on work in a fast‑paced environment.
