Trusted by municipalities, institutional organizations, and public-sector clients across Ontario, the firm has built a reputation for delivering practical, construction-ready engineering solutions that reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and improve building performance.
As the firm enters its next phase of growth, we are seeking a President to lead the organization strategically, commercially, and financially. This is a unique opportunity for a growth-minded leader to expand the firm's presence within the private sector while leveraging its established technical excellence and strong public-sector reputation.
The successful candidate will drive business development, oversee firm-wide operations and financial performance, and position the organization as a leading partner for building owners navigating energy transition, decarbonization, and infrastructure modernization.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the firm's expansion into private-sector markets including commercial real estate, industrial, healthcare, multi-residential, retail, post-secondary, and institutional sectors.
- Leverage an existing network of building owners, developers, property managers, REITs, and asset managers to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop strategic relationships with contractors, consultants, and industry partners that influence project opportunities.
- Maintain and grow existing municipal and public-sector relationships while diversifying revenue streams.
- Establish and achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
- Develop and manage a structured sales pipeline, proposal process, and client relationship strategy.
- Identify new service offerings and market opportunities aligned with client demand and industry trends.
- Represent the company at industry events, associations, and networking functions.
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the organization, including revenue, margins, project profitability, and EBITDA performance.
- Develop and execute annual business plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineering and technical professionals.
- Ensure the organization has the resources, systems, and talent required to support continued growth.
- Provide regular reporting and strategic updates to ownership.
- Strengthen the firm's market position as a trusted advisor in building performance, energy efficiency, HVAC systems, and decarbonization.
- Monitor industry trends, government funding programs, incentive opportunities, and regulatory changes that create business opportunities.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives that increase market visibility and enhance the company's brand.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within engineering consulting, energy services, building systems, design-build, sustainability consulting, or a related technical services environment.
- Demonstrated success developing new business and growing revenue through client acquisition and relationship management.
- Established network within Ontario's commercial, industrial, institutional, or real estate sectors.
- Experience managing financial performance, budgets, and business operations with full P&L accountability.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems, HVAC infrastructure, energy management, and retrofit projects.
- Experience leading and developing technical teams through periods of growth.
- Familiarity with Ontario funding and incentive programs including Enbridge, IESO, NRCan, CMHC, and related initiatives is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. P.Eng., CEM, LEED AP, MBA, or equivalent credentials are considered assets.
- Proven business development and relationship-building skills.

Compensation Range: $175,000 - $ 185,000 with ETO up to $250,000
