What The Role Is

Carbon Mitigation Division (CMD) - Carbon Markets Engagement and Communication

What You Will Be Working On

This project focuses on strengthening Singapore’s international partnerships for Article 6 carbon credits to achieve our climate commitments. The intern will support our efforts to organise business missions to host countries which will strengthen the utilisation of our Implementation Agreements, as well as develop communication approaches to enhance Singapore’s transparency on our Article 6 progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Organisation of Business Missions


Support the organisation of business missions aimed at strengthening Singapore’s Article 6 Implementation Agreement utilisation. This involves coordinating with host countries, engaging with participating business delegates, and drafting the materials for policy workshops targeted at businesses and developers.

  • Post-Mission Follow-Ups


Draft and disseminate key information from the business missions to participating companies, collect feedback from companies about the mission, and gather information about mission outcomes, including identifying projects with collaboration potential and which could benefit from further follow-ups.

  • Sharing Singapore’s Article 6 Progress with UNFCCC


Support the development of communications materials (including social media) related to Singapore's international climate commitments and progress reporting. This includes assisting with documentation processes, identifying key messages around implementation challenges and successes, and contributing to transparency initiatives that enhance understanding of Singapore's carbon market engagement.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this internship, the successful candidate will have gained practical experience in strategic communications planning, stakeholder engagement, and project management in a government context.
