About Us
We are a carbon credit developer focused on high-impact biochar projects across Asia. Our initiatives span the entire value chain: from identifying sustainable biomass feedstock and deploying pyrolysis-based production facilities to utilizing biochar as a soil amendment for enhanced crop yields. By rigorously monitoring and reporting all project activities, we generate high-quality carbon credits that contribute to real climate action.
Role Overview
We are seeking a driven Biochar Project Development Intern to support our operations and project origination teams. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong technical or scientific background—whether in Mechanical Engineering (thermal conversion/hardware) or Environmental Science (carbon sequestration/biology)—who wishes to apply their knowledge to the business of climate change.
You will work directly with the COO to bridge the gap between technical feasibility and business development, gaining hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving carbon market.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Origination & Strategy: Assist senior leadership in identifying, evaluating, and developing new project opportunities across Asia.
- Technical & Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive research on biomass feedstock logistics, pyrolysis technologies, and the regulatory landscape of carbon credit registries.
- Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate the viability of potential project sites by assessing plant design, logistical constraints, and financial estimates.
- MRV System Design: Design and support the implementation of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems. You will translate technical project data into compliance documentation required by carbon registries.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between project owners, technology providers, and internal teams to ensure projects progress smoothly.
- Documentation & Reporting: Synthesize complex data into professional technical reports, project proposals, and presentations to support business scaling.
Who We Are Looking For
- Education:
- Preferred: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental) or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science).
- Accepted: Outstanding candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with strong academic records are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Interest: A genuine passion for the science of biochar—whether from a thermal conversion perspective or a biological/carbon-cycle perspective.
- Analytical Capabilities: Strong ability to gather fragmented data, analyze it critically, and synthesize it into clear, actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent command of written and verbal English. You must be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive Mindset: Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, balancing high-level research with necessary administrative tasks.
