Opportunity to join a rapidly growing IPP that focuses on utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across the US, including work in ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE, NY-ISO & WECC. This role will lead construction activities across multiple projects simultaneously, supporting the development, execution, and delivery of solar, storage and wind projects.
An innovative IPP dedicated to accelerating the transition to renewable energy by developing, financing, and constructing utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across the United States. With a growing portfolio of projects, they are committed to building sustainable, clean energy solutions for communities, utilities, and commercial customers. Due to significant portfolio growth, they are seeking an experienced Director of Construction (utility-scale) to oversee the development, execution, and successful delivery of multiple projects, mainly in ERCOT, PJM & the Northeast.
The Director of Construction (utility-scale) will:
Project Oversight: Lead and manage multiple large-scale solar, energy storage & wind projects from development through construction and handover, ensuring seamless execution.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, construction teams, contractors, regulatory bodies, and clients.
Budget and Schedule Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Oversee cost management and address any financial or schedule risks.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to safety, quality, compliance, and other project challenges.
Contract Management: Oversee the execution of contracts, including negotiation with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and company quality policies.
Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate with key internal stakeholders such as finance, legal, and business development teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Experience: At least 8+ years of experience in managing large-scale solar or storage projects, ideally in ERCOT, PJM or the Northeast, but candidates with projects in other locations are welcome to apply for consideration.
Strong knowledge of utility-scale solar and energy storage technologies, project development processes, and construction management.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Leadership: Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing external stakeholders, and driving complex projects to successful completion.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore), and familiarity with construction scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required to project sites across the US.
