Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Investor Relations, the Senior Analyst, Corporate Sustainability will manage the end-to-end annual Sustainability Report process, company ESG disclosures, the annual Scope 3 GHG emissions inventory, and various sustainability communications and governance projects.
The Senior Analyst, Corporate Sustainability will stay current on issues related to sustainability at Methanex, with the objective of managing effective and compliant sustainability reporting and contributing to Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) embedded in our global strategy. A key responsibility will be to monitor and support future required sustainability reporting requirements in Canada and globally, as well as voluntary reporting frameworks.
The expected hiring salary range for this position is CAD $112,000 to $137,000. The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies and will consider internal equity.

Position Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES RESULTS/DELIVERABLES Sustainability Report Management
- Manages annual Sustainability Reporting (cycle runs ~Sept to April annually)
- Conducts a right-sizing/optimization exercise for Sustainability Report content and coverage with direction from VP, Investor Relations
- Manages work of external reporting consultant, works with external consultant on content to be included, copy-writing, and design aspects
- Manage critical timelines and actions for review process, which includes Subject Matter Experts, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors members
- Maintains report alignment with applicable frameworks, e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD/IFRS/CSSB and works with related teams on initiatives to fulfil framework requirements where applicable
- Ensures that the report meets the requirements of key stakeholders including investors, regulators, communities, and employees
- Suggests, reviews, and tracks progress on publicly disclosed ESG-related performance targets. Works closely with internal business groups to ensure commitments are consistent
- Supports Internal Audit team on ESG data controls, audits. Coordinates applicable ESG data requirements and improvements with the Responsible Care team
- Works with Global Communications team to develop supplemental communications documents to be published along with the Sustainability Report
- Ensures consistency with key ESG messaging through collaborative work with Investor Relations, Communications, Responsible Care, and Low Carbon Solutions teams
- Considers materiality and material topics in reporting
- Tracks Canadian and global sustainability, ESG, reporting, and/or carbon regulations and ensures company readiness to align as required
- Track, respond to, and maintain/improve ranking for ESG Ratings Agencies (e.g., CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment)
- Work with the Investor Relations team to respond to ESG-related investor inquiries
- Work with commercial teams to respond to ESG-related customer inquiries
- Support Low Carbon Solutions and Manufacturing on an ad hoc basis – e.g., manufacturing emissions intensity reduction projects, regional carbon regulations, etc.
- Prepare and submit Forced Labour report, with direction from General Counsel
- Supports Responsible Care team with Scope 1 and 2 emissions tracking
- Manage and continuously improve the company’s Scope 3 GHG emissions inventory, including data collection, methodology application, and alignment with the GHG Protocol
- Support the Internal Audit team with external audit-grade data improvements and contributing to annual ESG data internal audits
- Support the VP, Investor Relations in preparing materials for the Executive Leadership Team and Board regarding evolving ESG topics that may affect the business

Education and/or Professional Designation
- University degree in Sustainability, Science, Engineering, Financial or Business field
- PMP or CPA designation an asset
- Experience with environmental management, climate change, ESG/Sustainability programs and/or reporting
- 5+ years’ experience in a natural resource, commodity, or related industry an asset
- Experience working with senior leadership in a global, matrix organization
- Experience with a public company is an asset
- Strategic business acumen with a solid understanding of public markets and shareholder/analyst management
- Previous experience working with Executives; experience working with Board of Directors an
- asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of effective collaboration and building strong peer
- relationships in a highly matrixed organization
- Superior communication skills (oral, written, presentations). Must be able to synthesize key
- messages for diverse audience in a compelling way
- Conceptual skills to analyze situations and problems to find viable, timely solutions
