About the Role and Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer at Metacon, you play a key role in creating reliable and efficient technical platforms. Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Designing and developing automation solutions for energy production facilities
- Programming and configuration of Siemens PLC systems and SCADA/HMI platforms using TIA portal
- Commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing automation processes
- Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions
- Integration of process equipment such as compressors, rectifiers, electrolyzers and safety systems
- Integration of third-party equipment using industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP or similar
- Participate in the development and implementation of Metacon's control system for hydrogen production plants, including PLC- and future DCS-based architecture such as Siemens PCS neo
Profile
- You have a relevant university degree in automation, electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience within the areas previously mentioned
- You have experience working with automation projects in the process industry such as energy, hydrogen, chemical, or similar
- You possess solid skills in programming and configuring PLC systems and SCADA systems
- You have strong problem‑solving abilities and can work both independently and as part of a team
- A driver's licence is required due to travelling for commissioning and on-site support
- You have experience with safety systems, functional safety or hazardous area environments
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is considered a strong merit
- You have strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written, and proficiency in Swedish is considered a merit
