The Role

The global asset manager is hiring a Research Intern within its Sustainability Strategy team, based in Singapore. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 20 weeks on a full-time basis (5 days per week). A minimum of 4 days per week will also be considered, though full-time availability is strongly preferred.

Team Context

The Sustainability Strategy team sits within the broader Sustainability Group. The team is responsible for setting strategy across the institution, portfolio, and ecosystem on topics including net zero, nature positive outcomes, and inclusive growth. The team monitors regulatory and market developments, partners with internal functional teams, and engages portfolio companies on sustainability topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support horizon scanning, research, and analysis of global sustainability policies, regulations, frameworks, and market trends.
  • Assist with peer benchmarking to identify cross-thematic risks, opportunities, and implications for institutional and portfolio-level sustainability strategy.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policy foresight tools, including AI tools and dashboards.
  • Support preparation of executive-ready briefing materials such as slide decks and short notes for strategic reviews and decision-making.
  • Support participation in selected global networks and coalitions through background research, preparation of meeting briefs, and note-taking.
  • Support project leads in internal capability building programmes by integrating policy insights into management training, board insights, and advisory panel programmes.
  • Help curate case studies, examples, and reference materials that communicate policy insights to internal stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability, environmental, and social issues through coursework, internships, projects, or volunteer experience.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with sustainability data and metrics.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
