The Opportunity with McKinstry
We’re hiring a Logistics Lead (Contract) to support outbound logistics operations onsite at McKinstry in Spokane. This is a long-term contract role where you’ll play a key part in coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring materials move efficiently and on time. The estimated duration is 6–12 months, with potential for extension.

We’re hiring a Logistics Lead (Contract) to support outbound logistics operations onsite at McKinstry in Spokane. This is a long-term contract role where you’ll play a key part in coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring materials move efficiently and on time. The estimated duration is 6–12 months, with potential for extension.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, coordinate, and execute outbound shipments (LTL, FTL, parcel, and freight forwarding)
- Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, and commercial invoices
- Support export documentation and ensure compliance with shipping requirements
- Manage relationships with carriers and coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders
- Use TMS and ERP systems to manage and document shipping activity
- Troubleshoot shipping issues and delays as they arise
- Ensure accuracy and compliance across all shipping processes
- Support overall outbound logistics and material flow
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field)
- 2–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Experience coordinating shipments across multiple modes (LTL, FTL, parcel, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with ERP and/or TMS systems
- Knowledge of Incoterms
- Experience with export documentation and freight forwarding
- Hazmat shipping certification
- APICS CSCP or CLTD certification
- Fully onsite role in Spokane
- Fast-paced, coordination-heavy environment
- Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external carriers
