The Opportunity with McKinstry

We’re hiring an Automated Equipment Operator to support manufacturing operations onsite at McKinstry in Spokane. This is a contract to hire role where you’ll play a key part in operating specialized equipment to fabricate precision pipe components used in production.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate automated fabrication equipment such as T-Drill or CNC machines
  • Fabricate precision pipe connections according to engineering specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints and P&IDs
  • Program CNC controls, monitor machine cycles, and make adjustments as needed
  • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of finished components
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Support overall production flow within the facility

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–5 years of experience in pipe fabrication or CNC machine operation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience with T-Drill equipment (highly preferred)
  • CNC certification or formal training
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • AWS welding certification (welding not required for this role)
  • Familiarity with ASME/ASTM standards

This is an hourly contract role, with a pay range of $30.00 - $50.00 per hour depending on experience.
