What we look for in our Commissioning Interns:
- Must be pursuing or have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy & Building Systems, or a related field. Junior student standing or higher required.
- Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September depending on school)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.
- Must be self–motivated, able to multi‐task, and work independently.
- HVAC training/education
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Analysis
- Assist Commissioning Engineer perform design reviews of construction documents before construction phase.
- Assist Commissioning Engineer perform site visits and operation tests in existing buildings.
- Perform static commissioning on a variety of HVAC systems for the purpose of validating completion and proper installation
- Record accurate, complete, and legible data onto appropriate forms
- Work with Coordinator to schedule required equipment calibrations
- Assist project-specific Commissioning Engineer as needed
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
- Mechanical systems knowledge
- Read and understand construction documents (mechanical drawings, specifications, etc.)
