About This Position
Lead nature activities and act as a counselor in a nature day camp for children ages 5 to 11. The camp emphasizes group cooperation, nature study, and experiential learning. Each instructor develops lessons using field, forest, salt marsh, and wetland habitats in local natural areas.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and teach nature lessons for campers using town’s various habitats.
2. Counsel campers and help them gain a valuable outdoor experience.
3. Prepare and submit lesson plans.
4. Communicate with parents of campers as needed.
5. Assist with setup and cleanup of the program areas.

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications:
1. At least 20 years of age.
2. Education: B.A. or B.S. in education or related degree with appropriate work experience. Students studying education who have camp experience will also be considered.
3. Experience in leading nature activities relating to local environments in a camp setting.
4. Ability to work cooperatively and independently.
5. Current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Compensation & Benefits
This position’s base salary range is $15.25 - $15.75; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.
This is not a benefits eligible position.

Additional Information
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Staff Training: June 13-17, 2022
Camp Weeks: July 11-August 5, 2022
The location for this position is Church of St. Andrew, Marblehead.
Other Requirements:
Employees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
