About Mass Audubon
Mass Audubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England. Founded in 1896 by two women who fought for the protection of birds, Mass Audubon carries on their legacy by focusing on the greatest challenges facing the environment today: the loss of biodiversity, inequitable access to nature, and climate change. With the help of our 140,000 members and supporters, we protect wildlife, conserve and restore resilient land, advocate for impactful environmental policies, offer nationally recognized education programs for adults and children, and provide endless opportunities to experience the outdoors at our wildlife sanctuaries. About This Position
Drumlin Farm is a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary and working educational farm located 18 miles west of Boston. We seek hard-working individuals with an interest in local food systems and sustainable agriculture to join our team for the 2022 season in a full or part-time capacity. At Drumlin Farm, we are committed to farming sustainably, which to us means protecting the soil, watershed, and the habitats of our wildlife sanctuary, while also involving the community in what we do. To learn more about our farming practices, please visit our website: www.massaudubon.org/drumlin/farming.
Duties & Responsibilities
Fieldworkers work closely with Drumlin’s farmers to raise crops on thirty acres and market our produce through a farm stand, a weekly urban farmers’ market, restaurant accounts, and a spring, summer and fall CSA program. Additionally, 12-15% of all we grow supplies three local hunger relief organizations. You’ll work hard as part of our team, but you’ll also learn a lot and have a chance to teach others by working alongside volunteers and work-share members. You’ll spend most of your time in the field and may also assist with washing and packing produce, and with farm stand and CSA setup and breakdown.
