Tasks
Made of Air is looking for a hands-on Production Manager to own the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This is a pivotal role sitting at the center of our production operation — you'll be the connective tissue between our two production shifts, the go-to person for facilities and safety, and a key partner in hitting our output targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Shift & Team Coordination
- Serve as the operational link between the morning and afternoon shifts, ensuring clean handovers and consistent communication across the team
- Manage and support shift leads, providing direction on daily priorities, target counts, and end-of-day reporting
- Fill in for shift leads when needed to maintain continuity
- Coordinate shift planning and scheduling
Production & Quality
- Work directly with the Process Engineer to align on production targets and translate these into clear, actionable goals for shift leads
- Track and communicate target counts and EOD counts to the team
- Oversee and maintain QC processes across the production floor
- Train new workers at each station and ensure onboarding is thorough and consistent
Inventory & Supplies
- Manage ordering and inventory of production supplies
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and verify material inventories
Facilities, Health & Safety
- Oversee building and equipment management, including routine maintenance and coordinating repairs
- Lead health and safety management across the facility; maintain current first aid certification
- Monitor energy usage and flag anomalies
Requirements
- Previous experience in a production or operations management role, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communicator — comfortable translating between management priorities and floor-level execution
- Organised and proactive, with a track record of keeping operations running smoothly
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where processes are still being built
- First aid certified, or willing to obtain certification
- Fluent in English or German
