The project: Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a significant nuclear power station project located in Somerset, England. It is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years and represents a major step towards achieving the country's energy security and carbon reduction goals.
The plans involve major construction work, management services, and NEC contract management. Hinkley Point C nuclear plant is set to produce energy that will service a phenomenal 5 million homes when it becomes fully operational. This equates to an overall 7% of UK total energy requirement, placing it in high national interest.

You’ll Be Responsible For
- Dealing with a high number of compensation events under NEC3 Option A & C, assessing entitlement, cost validation and internal governance.
- Providing commercial and contractual subject matter expertise to the balance of plant delivery team.
- Providing support to commercial managers on areas of key contractual risk, and governance procedures.
- Producing, analysing and presenting financial, contractual, and commercial data to internal project teams.
- Coordinating with change, cost, risk and schedule teams to ensure coherent and consistent project progress.
- Responsible for the financial and commercial success of a portfolio of varied and complex contracts including managing, coordinating, and negotiating key commercial events from inception to implementation.
- Implementing of all commercial and financial governance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the EPR-E information management system (IMS), rules and procedures to ensure that all contracts are administered within delegation of authority and the overall EPR-E governance/ assurance regime.
- Effective commercial and contract management skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.
- Strong understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
- Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.
- Confident on management of NEC contracts, with experience in FIDIC within the power construction industry and major projects; coupled with knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function
- Prior experience on NEC contracts on larger construction projects desirable.
- Familiarity with the nuclear site license conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy with understanding of the UK regulatory framework would be beneficial.
