MCMCER combines decades of environmental advocacy with legal and policy expertise to deliver practitioner-led, application-focused certificate programmes, including the Fundamentals of ESG Practice, BRSR Reporting, Materiality Assessment and Stakeholder Engagement, Foundations of Net Zero and GHG Accounting, the ISO 14064 Lead Auditor Training Programme, and GRI Certified Training. Programmes are delivered live online to working professionals from organisations such as Deloitte, Infosys, Microsoft, ITC, and the Government of India.

ROLE SUMMARY

MCMCER is looking for an ESG Faculty member to design and deliver high-quality, practitioner-oriented instruction across its ESG and climate curriculum, with particular ownership of GHG accounting, verification, and ISO 14064 content. The faculty member will translate technical standards and regulatory frameworks into practical, audit-ready learning for working professionals, and will contribute to curriculum development, case studies, and assessment design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deliver live online, as well as in-person sessions on GHG accounting, verification and validation, ISO 14064 Parts 1 (organisational inventories), 2 (project-based emission reductions), and 3 (verification and validation).
  • Teach and contribute to related ESG programmes, including the Fundamentals of ESG Practice, BRSR Reporting, Materiality Assessment and Stakeholder Engagement, Foundations of Net Zero and GHG Accounting, and GRI Certified Training, as needed.
  • Develop and continuously update course content, case studies, verification templates, and assessment tools that reflect current regulatory and market practice (GHG Protocol, CDP, PAS 2060, BRSR, GRI, TCFD, ISSB).
  • Guide learners through practical exercises in emissions data quality assessment, materiality determination, evidence collection, sampling, and verification report writing.
  • Evaluate participant assignments, case studies, and capstone projects; provide structured, actionable feedback.
  • Mentor working professionals transitioning into ESG and sustainability roles from non-ESG backgrounds (legal, finance, operations, engineering, quality).
  • Collaborate with the Programme Manager and Advisory Board on curriculum design, programme quality, and alignment with evolving global ESG frameworks.
  • Represent MCMCER at webinars, industry panels, and corporate training engagements as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ISO 14064 qualified and certified — demonstrated expertise across GHG inventory design (Part 1), project-based quantification (Part 2), and verification/validation (Part 3); lead auditor/lead verifier certification preferred.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Science, Environmental Law, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of professional experience in ESG compliance and reporting, GHG verification, carbon accounting, sustainability auditing, or climate risk advisory.
  • Working knowledge of the GHG Protocol, CDP, PAS 2060, BRSR, ISSB, GRI, CSRD, and other key frameworks, and their integration with ISO 14064.
  • Prior teaching, training, or corporate learning & development experience, particularly with adult/executive learners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Additional certifications such as GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, AA1000 Assurance Sustainability Practitioner, SASB/ISSB, and/or Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR).
  • Experience with BRSR, materiality assessments, or double-materiality frameworks.
  • Prior affiliation with an accredited certification or verification body (e.g., BSCIC, Bureau Veritas, DNV, TÜV, DQS).
  • Published research, whitepapers, or thought leadership in climate risk and/ or ESG reporting.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong command of technical GHG and ESG concepts, with the ability to simplify them for a mixed-experience cohort.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable delivering live, interactive online sessions.
  • Structured, audit-minded approach to teaching — able to translate standards into checklists, templates, and real-world scenarios.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to curriculum design beyond individual sessions.
