As a Senior Brakes Design Engineer, you will help develop braking components and technologies in production vehicles.

Role:

  • Design and develop brake components from initial concept to production, this may include but not limited to brake calipers, rotors, booster, modulator, fluid reservoirs, pedal box, hoses, pipes, harnesses, brackets
  • Establish requirements for components based on desired system attributes
  • Champion design and development activities to meet system requirements, internal and industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate components via Design with excellence, with great attention to every detail approach.
  • Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs
  • Champion product optimization and cost reduction initiatives and drive the execution with systematically validating the change.
  • Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment to meet program and development milestones.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of automotive industry experience, focus on braking component design
  • Proven experience taking braking or Safety critical components from concept to production
  • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 for 3D modeling and 2D drawing
  • Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection
  • Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience
  • Ability to Travel domestically and internationally

Advantageous:

  • Demonstrated ability of hands-on problem solving
  • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
  • Project leadership skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
  • Knowledge of NVH principles
  • Ability to run CAE analysis tools
  • Driven-vehicle attributes development experience
  • Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory

Education:

  • BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering or similar
