Lucid's Interior Trim team is looking for an engineer specializing in design/development of interior accessories for automotive projects.

Role
  • Manage the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production.
  • Create cutting edge parts for interior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency
  • Work interactively within a cross functional studio, marketing and vehicle engineering teams, understanding the business case of each particular project
  • Develop and implement benchmarking and testing plans and activities to deliver a continued improvement in product.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle interior trim including accessories or similar or SVO (special vehicle operations) design & development. This includes design related experience with at least some of the following areas:
    • Interior ornamentation
    • Brightware
    • Mechanisms
    • Soft goods
  • Previous experience and background in solving complex technical issues and challenges.
  • Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard. CATIA knowledge preferred
  • Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
  • High and Low Volume Production methods.
  • Launch experience.

Advantageous
  • Automotive industry experience
  • CATIA V6 preferred
  • Direct hands-on interior trim accessories or SVO experience
  • Developing test plan and schedule for new products
  • A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
  • Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills.
  • A great work ethic

Education
  • Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
